Carabao Cup: Alex Iwobi grab assist in Everton’s slim win over Fleetwood

After putting on yet another fantastic performance against Fleetwood in the Carabao Cup, Alex Iwobi’s career at Everton is gradually adopting a new direction under Frank Lampard’s tutelage.

the Nigerian midfielder made it possible for Everton to secure a narrow victory in the Carabao Cup second round on Tuesday night, thanks to his assist for the winning goal.

The man of the match award was given to the Super Eagles star – Alex Iwobi for his outstanding performances for Everton in game.

The 26-year-old Nigerian international helped Everton advance to the third round of the Carabao Cup with a slender 1-0 victory over League One team Fleetwood.

The visitors grabbed their only goal of the game through Demarai Gray after Alex Iwobi found him with a precise ball, and it ended up being the game’s winning goal.

Gray, who wasn’t even supposed to start the game but was substituted in at the last minute for Tom Davies when the latter withdrew after the warm-up, delivered the winning goal thanks to Iwobi’s excellent assist in the box
