For the Super Eagles forward, the strike was more than personal—it symbolised the growing rhythm of a team firing on all cylinders.
After a quiet start in Spain, Adams has started making waves in La Liga. Coming off the bench in consecutive games, he found the net in back-to-back appearances, signalling a newfound confidence and poise in front of goal.
His historic strike against Barcelona came six minutes into stoppage time, when Chidera Ejuke delivered a perfect pass for Adams to slot home from close range.
The goal was the culmination of eight consecutive appearances for Sevilla, and it finally rewarded the former Flying Eagles star with his first La Liga goal for the club.
Adams’ moment of joy was magnified by the significance of the venue—a stadium known for its passionate atmosphere and historic victories.
Teamwork and Tenacity Behind the Historic Moment
Reflecting on the performance, Adams praised the collective effort of his teammates.

“This gives a lot of credit to the team. We’ve been in our own bubble, doing what we’ve worked on, and all that effort has paid off,” he said, emphasising the teamwork that fuelled Sevilla’s dominant display.
Adams also highlighted the joy of scoring in front of the home crowd and dedicated the goal to teammate Isaac Romero.
“Total madness. I want to give recognition to Isaac Romero. As for me, my first task was to defend and then push forward. I’m very happy to score my first goal at the Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán,” Adams said.
