Yobo congratulates Super Eagles

Super Eagles skipper Joseph Yobo has congratulated the team for doing the job against Malawi in his absence.

Yobo, who clocked 33 on Saturday, called the Eagles camp immediately after the 2-0 victory over the Flames of Malawi to congratulate his teammates for the outstanding display against Malawi.

He said he was praying for the team and was actually with them in spirit.

ÔÇ£I am excited that we have qualified for the last round of the World Cup qualifier,ÔÇØ Yobo said on phone.

ÔÇ£I have also called Ahmed Musa to commiserate with him over what some hoodlums did by attacking his mother. I am also using this opportunity to condole my good friend and team media officer Ben Alaiya over the death of his father.ÔÇØ

He is the most capped Nigeria player ever with 95 international appearances, but has not been called to Eagles since AFCON 2013 glory.

Coach Stephen Keshi has insisted he will not call up the experienced Fenerbache defender if he will only sit on the bench.

Yobo himself has insisted he is still relevant in the team and still hopes to return to the team as he plays regularly for his top Turkish club.
