The Nigeria international moved to Stoke late in the summer transfer window and has gone on to score one goal in 12 appearances, having spent almost the whole of last term at Liverpool. Since Jose Mourinho returned to Chelsea last summer, Moses has not featured as part of his plans.
He underwent a scan on Wednesday to determine the extent of the problem, and Potters assistant manager Mark Bowen was disappointed with the results. “It’s bad news on Victor Moses, a problem with his thigh,” he said
“He will be out with anything up to six to eight weeks. It’s a big hit. He had a scan and it’s not good. At the moment we’re deciding with Chelsea whether to go back and have the rehab there or stay with our team.”
Marko Arnautovic and Oussama Assaidi are likely to come in to replace Moses, while defender Marc Wilson could be contention for Saturday’s game at Liverpool despite being forced off in the recent defeat to Burnley.
