Ter Stegen has no intention of extending his contract at Borussia Monchengladbach. The German club’s sporting director, Max Eberl, had expressed the club’s intention to offer the keeper a new deal. However, Stegen got in there first and made it very clear that he will not sit down to discuss a new deal right now.
“I’m in no hurry. My contract is up in 2015 and there is a lot of time left until then,” the keeper told Kicker. He is the favourite to replace Vald├®s next season. His name was already mentioned this summer as an immediate transfer target, but the move was temporarily shelved when Vald├®s said that he would be staying this season.
