Sylla to miss Guinea’s opener

Guinea will be without striker Idrissa Sylla for their opening game of the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations due to injury.

The Zulte Waregem forward has been struggling with a hamstring strain which ruled him out of his side’s two warm-up matches, although he still managed to undergo training with the squad on Thursday.

However, Guinea coach Michel Dussuyer has since confirmed Sylla will not be risked for the side’s Group D opener against Ivory Coast on Tuesday.

The striker is, however, expected to regain full fitness in time for their following encounter against Cameroon, before Guinea close out the group stages against Mali.
