Former Nigeria goalkeeper Peter Rufai has saluted the current Super Eagles number one Vincent Enyeama for his performances last season.
Enyeama was on the shortlist for many awards, including the Ligue 1 goalkeeper of the year as well as the Marc-Vivien Foe Award, which he won.
Rufai reserved special praise for the 31-year-old, who went within 114 minutes of the French league’s goalkeeping record of playing without conceding.
“He has proven his skills,” the former Eagles keeper told Goal. “He has proven his worth and he has proven that he can be reckoned with and shown consistency.
“He has done very well, Enyeama is outstanding.”
Enyeama guarded the goal for Nigeria at the World Cup in Brazil, where he set a new African record of playing over two matches without conceding.
