Ronaldo reaffirms loyalty to Real Madrid

Real Madrid forward Cristiano Ronaldo has played down lingering rumours of a move back to English side Manchester United , claiming he sees himself a Real Madrid player in the future.

The Portuguese international bagged a double brace in the 5-1 mauling over Elche on Tuesday night making his goal tally an incredible 264 goals in 254 matches in all competitions.

“It’s all speculation, speaking about my future … My future is Madrid. I’m happy,” he told reporters after the game.

“The season is going well and I’m not talking about my future, it doesn’t make sense.”

Ronaldo had been previously quoted speaking of his desire to play for United “one day”, with further reports claiming that he is upset at Real because he is no longer the highest paid player in the world.
