Out of Favour Spurs defender; Bassong signs for Norwich

Cameroonian centre-back Sebastien Bassong has joined Norwich City on a three-year deal for an undisclosed fee as Andre Villas-Boas continues his summer clear-out.
Bassong follows Vedran Corluka, Niko Kranjcar, Steven Pienaar and Louis Saha out of White Hart Lane.Central defender Ledley King was also forced to retire over the summer.
Villas-Boas, who took over from Harry Redknapp in July, is believed to be desperate for a striker, and Bassong’s departure could free up extra funds for a forward to be brought to the club.
Meanwhile Norwich, who were beaten 5-0 on the opening day of the Premier League campaign, hope French-born Cameroon international Bassong will add some much needed cover for new boss Chris Hughton, who worked with the 26-year-old at Newcastle.
Bassong wrote on his Twitter feed: “I’ve been officially transferred to Norwich today. 3 years deal. another chapter in my football life.
Norwich confirmed the transfer, which is for an undisclosed fee, on their official website just after noon.
