Garba told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Gombe on Tuesday that with the government and stakeholders’ support he could do it.
“Motivation is the biggest tonic which players and coaches need to perform wonderfully,’’ Garba said.
The U-17 World Cup winner, who served as assistant and chief coach, explained that he declined lucrative offers from top premier league clubs for Gombe United.
“I accepted Gombe United offer because I am a son of the soil.
“I want to contribute my quota toward the success of the club,’’he said.
Also, the club’s General Manager, Alhaji Salisu Ahmed, said the target set for the new coach was to deliver a continental ticket.
“We assured him that nobody will interfere in his job,’’
He commended Gov. Ibrahim Dankwambo for his relentless financial support to the club.
Muhammad Sulaiman, on his part, told NAN that the incumbent administration’s willingness to continue to support the club throughout the 2016/2017 season was commendable.
