Nembe City not for Sale–Baribote

Reports emerged in the local media last week  that Premier League side Nembe city has been put up for sale.
It was reported that Nembe City owner and former league boss, Victor Rumson Baribote placed a Three Hundred Million Nigeria Naira (N300m) tag on his club after a relegated club sought to see if they could buy the top-flight spot to stay up.

Club proprietor,Victor Rumson Baribote has moved to deny these reports.

“As we speak, we are on the field training ahead of the new season. We have just hired a new coach and in the last 48 hours, we have played two friendlies against Heartland and Dolphins,” Baribote told Daily sun.

“Those peddling the Nembe for sale rumour are enemies, who are hell bent on seeing me out of the Nigeria football scene.

“But I can assure you that they wonÔÇÖt succeed. The club will remain in the league and do well next term.”

Nembe City escaped relegation in their first-ever appearance in the Nigerian top flight finishing 15th with 52 points last season.
