Bayern Munich forward Thomas Muller is set to miss both legs of their champions league last 16 tie against Liverpool after he was given a two match suspension following his awful challenge on Tagliafico.
The German international was brandished a straight red card for a high foot tackle on Nicolas Tagliafico during a group stage match with Ajax last month in Amsterdam, which ended 3-3.
Muller faced a mandatory one match ban which will automatically rule him out of the first leg at Anfield on February 19. However, the UEFA’s disciplinary panel have now imposed a two match sanction.
Bayern have already responded saying they will appeal against the decision.
