Anthony Martial has reportedly agreed terms with Manchester United and will sign a new five year contract extension, which will keep him until 2024. However, the official announcement is expected to be made before Friday.
Martial’s representatives and Old Trafford chiefs have been locked in negotiations for months, and the France international finally appears to have committed his future to the club.
The Frenchman’s current deal with the club expires in the summer but The Red Devils have already triggered a year’s extension option for the 23-year-old winger. Since the start of the season, Tony has been one of United’s key players with ten goals and one assist in 25 appearances.
Last week Ole Gunnar Solskjaer revealed United were close to extending Anthony Martial’s contract with the club:
“I think the club is making progress, yeah, but I leave that to the right people to do that. I don’t really know how far away from it [we are] but hopefully we can have some good news in the coming weeks.”
Since his debut for The Red Devils against Liverpool Tony has featured in 161 games, scored 46 goals and registered 27 assists. In the 2015/16 season, he became the club’s top goalscorer with 17 goals in all competitions.
