Robert Lewandowski will snub Manchester United and Chelsea to stay at Bayern Munich, according to reports in Germany.
The 29-year-old Poland striker is relaxing on a beach holiday with his family after his disappointing World Cup and has had crunch talks over his future, reports Bild .
His new agent Pini Zahavi had been busy testing the water with some of the world’s richest clubs but no deal was done.
Zahavi even told Bild when he was first appointed: “Robert feels that he needs a change and a new challenge in his career.”
But the frontman is now set to stay with the Bundesliga giants where he will aim to add another domestic title to his already glittering medal collection.
United made contact with the player’s agent after it was revealed he wanted out of Munich this summer.
SunSport exclusively revealed how Lewandowski secretly met with super-agent Zahavi for dinner in Munich to plot his exit from the Bundesliga club.
Reported by France Football, long-term admirers Chelsea have also contacted Zahavi over a potential move.
Chelsea were linked with a new front man with suggestions they could cut their losses and flog club-record signing Alvaro Morata.
Real Madrid were Lewandowski’s first-choice destination but they did not show enough interest, even though Cristiano Ronaldo looks on his way out.
Lewandowski began his exit strategy by splitting with Cezary Kucharski – his adviser of ten years – and hiring Zahavi as his representative in February.
Following his appointment, Zahavi said at the time: “I am glad that Robert decided to co-operate with me.
“I will do everything to work well in his name.
“He is a great footballer. He is the best striker in the world. Therefore, it is not surprising that I have signals about the interest of his person in all major clubs.
“Will Robert go to Real Madrid? We’ll see. Now it’s time for me to do my job.”
