Lacazette Suspended For Arsenal’s Tie against Rennes

Arsenal have been dealt a Europa League blow after Alexandre Lacazette was suspended for both legs of their last 16 tie with Rennes.

The 27 year old missed Thursday’s second leg win over Bate Borisov following his red card for elbowing Aleksandar Filipovic after being fouled while on the ball.

The UEFA Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Body (CEDB) decided to suspend him for three games so the player, having already served one match of the ban in the second leg win over BATE, will be suspended for a further two matches against Rennes.

The Europa League draw confirmed Arsenal would play Ligue 1 club Rennes in the last 16, with the first tie in France on March 7. then will travel to France for the return leg week later on March 14.
