Ivory Coast went into their game against Senegal  in Casablanca  with 3-1 1st Leg advantage.  The match which was played on a neutral venue saw the Ivorians  on the back foot for most of the game. The Taranga lions of Senegal came within a goal of reaching the 2014 World Cup after  Moussa Sow converted from the spot  late on. The Ivorians  endured a nervy end  as Senegal threw everything  at them in  search of that elusive goal leaving their back exposed. The Elephants  would then profit from a counter attack which Salomon Kalou coolly finished to send Ivory Coast  to their  3rd World Cup.

On Sunday, Cameroon walloped Tunisia 4-1 in Yaounde .Pierre Webo  who missed a sitter in the 1st leg goalless draw opened scoring for the indomitable Lions as early as the 3rd Minute to unsettle the Tunisians. 27 minutes later, Benjamin MOUDANDJO  found his way through the Tunisian defense slotting into the near corner for Cameroon putting them  in cruise control.

5 minutes into the 2nd half Ahmed Akaïchi pulled a goal back for Tunisia. This meant the Carthage Eagles needed just a goal to make it to Brazil on away goals rule. Cameroon, well aware of this began to search for a goal to settle their nerves.

It was not long before that goal came. Jean Makoun heading in a well taken corner kick to send the home fans into wild jubilation. The Stade Rennais man completed his brace 4 minutes from time ensuring that Cameroon’s┬á flag┬á will fly in the World Cup for the 7th time in Brazil.
