AC Milan legend Filippo Inzaghi says he has absolutely no intention of leaving the club just yet, despite there being little clarity on his future role.
Since Massimo Allegri received the axe in January 2014 there has been considerable speculation about the appointment of a long-term manager and the one name which has been bandied about quite often during that period is that of Inzaghi.
In the interim, Inzaghi’s former team-mate Clarence Seedorf has taken over at the helm but there is also considerable uncertainty about his future at the club, especially if they don’t qualify for next season’s Europa League, which seems likely at this juncture.
“At the end of the season I will speak with (Adriano) Galiani, the President and Barbara Berlusconi about my future,” said Inzaghi, who has been nurturing the Milan youth during the past season.
“Going forward, I repeat, I’m very happy at Milan. I’m tied to a contract,” added Inzaghi.
Inzaghi declined to give any extensive commentary on the status of Seedorf, highlighting that it was the leadership at the club which would make a decision on his future and not him.
“Seedorf? Don’t ask me, I’m his great friend and I’m happy with the choices he made. Now I’m enjoying working with the kids.”
