Insigne committed to Napoli

Napoli forward Lorenzo Insigne has pledged his future to the Serie A club amidst reports of interest from a host of clubs, including Arsenal.

The Gunners are but one of several clubs believed to have contacted the Partenopei regarding the 23-year-old’s services after a terrific season in Italy where he scored six goals and added six assists in 23 league appearances.

However, the Italy international insists that his immediate future remains at the Stadio San Paolo in Naples.

“I’ve always said that I’m flattered by possible interest from big clubs, but I feel good here,” he said in a pre-season press conference.

“I love this jersey and I want to win things with Napoli. I hope to be able to do that this season. I want to win with the club that is in my heart.

“The aim is to do good things in the Champions League and to challenge for the title.

“We won’t think too much about our opponents, we will deal with us. We will work to grow and compete for the top places.

“At the moment our thoughts are focused on the Champions League play-offs as they will be fundamental to our season.

“We want to be back in the Champions League and must face this challenge at our best.”
