Nigerian striker Kennedy Igboananike will spend his next football season playing for Major League Soccer club Chicago Fire.
Igboananike, who was named as the club’s latest designated player this week, has spent the greater part of the last seven seasons plying his trade in the Swedish top flight.
His efforts at AIK during the past two seasons have attracted some attention, even though they have not been overwhelming by any stretch of the imagination.
Naturally, the striker is delighted by the opportunity and can’t wait to showcase some of his skills on the North American continent. Likewise Fire head coach Frank Yallop can’t wait to work with the player next season.
“Kennedy is a dynamic goal scorer with a track record of producing,” said Yallop.
“He’s young and exciting, a player with incredible pace, and we look forward to adding him to our roster to bolster our attack,” added the Chicago Fire mentor.
