Arsenal are leading the race forSporting Lisbonwinger Gelson Martins… and could land the £60million-rated star for nothing, according to stunning reports.
The Gunners are said to be hoping to take advantage of the unrest at the Portuguese club to sign one of their top players.
A number of stars are looking to leave Sporting this summer after they came under attack at their training ground.
Reports from the Portuguese media claimed as many as 50 masked attackers – said to be supporters angry at the club’s failure to quality for Champions League football this season – forced their way into their training centre in May and assaulted players and club staff.
Sporting then played in the Portuguese Cup final against Aves later that week and lost 2-1.
And, according to reports from his homeland, 23-year-old Martins is among the top players keen to leave the club this summer.

The Portugal international, who has been selected in his country’s 23-man World Cup squad, is said to be looking to terminate his contract at Sporting and join a new club.
That has put Arsenal on red alert, and the Premier League side could land the pacey winger in a free transfer if he gets his own way, despite being valued at £60m by his club.
Martins ended the campaign with 13 goals and 13 assists for Sporting, who finished third in the Primeira Liga table, behind rivals Porto and Benfica.
