Egypt To Host AFCON 2019

Egypt have been awarded the rights to host the 2019 AFCON tournament after the Confederation of African Football(CAF) confirmed after a meeting of their executive commitee in Dakar, Senegal on Tuesday.

CAF deemed Cameroon unfit for the tournament due to delays over their preparations with the Africa Cup Of Nations. which was billed to take place on the 15th of June Till July 13th.

“I want to thank the (CAF) Executive Committee for the trust, and I thank the government for this support,” said Egypt FA (EFA) President Hang Abu Rida.

“We organized the tournament on 2006 and that make us against a challenge to make better and better, we are ready for this honor.”

“The guarantee from the government helped us to win against the South Africa and that will help us to make a good tournament,”added Ahmed Shobair, Vice President Of Egypt’s FA.

“The fans will be back again in the stadiums, which will be full in the tournament I promise.”

Egypt will use eight stadiums during the tournament, hosting in five different cities: Alexandria, Ismailia, Port Said, Suez and the Capital, Cairo.

The final round of qualifiers for the tournament will be held in March, with 14 nations, including Egypt, having already sealed their place at the finals.
