The Cross River State government have made good on their promise to give each member of 2013 Africa Cup of Nations winning squad a plot of land.
In a statement signed by NFF media officer Ben Alaiya, Nigeria captain Vincent Enyeama thanked the state governor Liyel Imoke for the generous gift and took the opportunity to remind Alhaji Aliko Dangote of the million dollar pledge he made to the team.
“We want to thank Governor Imoke and the good people of Cross River state for redeeming his pledge to us as a team,” Enyeama said.
“We promise that we will not disappoint him anytime we return to Calabar to play any game.
“We understand the busy schedule of Alhaji Dangote, we are just reminding him and his aides to help remind him,” he added.
NFF president Alhaji Aminu Maigari delivered the land papers from the Government House in Calabar to team administrator Dayo Enebi Achor last week.
The Cross River state capital is regarded as one of the cleanest cities in Africa and the country’s number one tourism destination.
