Manchester United midfielder Juan Mata believes that December is the most difficult month of the season and thinks that if the Red Devils can have good month, it sets them up for the rest of the season.
Man United have put their early-season form to the backs of their minds and won four games in a row in the Premier League to set them up strongly in fourth place. The Red Devils are five points clear of Tottenham Hotspur, Liverpool and Arsenal, though the two north London sides play tonight, but Mata knows the importance of the festive period.
“It was very important to win at Arsenal, and then to get two wins in a row at home,” Mata told Sources.
“Now we have the chance to have a great December – probably the most important month in the league because we play more (games than in any other month).”
The Red Devils have won their last two games at Old Trafford and Mata is pleased with United’s form and believes their recent good form sets them up well to have a strong December, which would see them remain in the top four heading into the second half of the campaign, which is precisely where Louis van Gaal and his squad will have been aiming for when the season started.
