Atletico Madrid President Enrique Cerezo is confident about his club’s prospects of lifting the Spanish Primera Division title at the Camp Nou on Saturday.
Cerezo, who has been at the helm since 2002, insists that his team will not buckle under pressure and has even suggested that the fixture against Barcelona will be an easier assignment than the one against Malaga last week.
Atletico could only muster a 1-1 draw against Malaga at the Vicente Calderon last Sunday. The same result against Barcelona is all Atletico need to lift the title this weekend.
“It will be easier to play against Barcelona than Málaga, both for us and them,” Cerezo told SER Catalunya.
On a weekend which featured several upsets, Barcelona also stumbled during their fixture against Elche, which they drew 0-0 and Cerezo has suggested the fact that the equation is a lot simpler this weekend will make it easier for both teams to try and achieve their objectives.
“Both us and Barcelona slipped up, and now we must settle it in one game. Right now I’d say that it’s 50-50,” added Cerezo.
