Celtic put off Nigeria trip

Bloemfontein Celtic coach Clinton Larsen says he has shelved plans to return on a scouting trip to Nigeria  for now.

The Phunya Sele Sele boss was in Nigeria two weeks ago where he took in the CAF Champions League clash between Sunshine Stars and Esperance.

He was thought to be watching a number of the Stars players, but at present has not made a move.

Upon his return to the country he said that he and assistant coach Boebie Solomons would return to Nigeria in a fortnight for another look, but plans have now changed.

ÔÇ£There are no immediate plans to return to Nigeria, but we are monitoring one or two players with regards to possible January signings,ÔÇØ Larsen said.

Celtic unveiled nine newly registered players last week, namely Dominic Isaacs, Limbikani Mzava, Joel Mogorosi, Dino Visser, Kurt Lentjies, Siyabonga Nontshinga, Brent Lawler, John Arwuah and Auguston Leonard.

They also have two development players training with the team this week to see whether they are ready for first-team football.
