CAFCL: Lobi Rally Back To Beat Sundowns In Group Opener

Lobi Stars got their CAF Champions league campaign up to a flying start as they came from behind to beat South Africa’s Mamelodi Sundowns 2-1 at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium on Friday.

Liberian international striker, Anthony Laffor, put Sundowns ahead in the 38th minute, and almost immediately, Yaya Kobe restored parity for Lobi Stars as he converted a spot kick.

Lobi Stars completed the comeback through left back, Ebube Duru shortly after the break earning ‘The Pride Of Benue’ a positive start to start their Group A campaign.

Wydad Casablanca will face ASEC Mimosa in the second Group A game.
