Borini out with a broken foot

Liverpool┬áboss Brendan Rodgers is facing a series of injury crisis in his debut season for the Reds as he’s lost yet again another key player in Fabio Borini after the Italian suffered a broken foot on international duty.
A scan revealed the fracture after Borini complained of discomfort in his right boot during training ahead of Italy Under-21sÔÇÖ Euro 2013 play-off clash with Sweden in Pescara tonight.
The 21-year-old will return to Merseyside to be assessed by the clubÔÇÖs medical staff but early indications are that heÔÇÖs likely to be sidelined for around six to eight weeks.
ItÔÇÖs a major blow for the Reds as it leaves Luis Suarez as RodgersÔÇÖ only senior striker.
Liverpool have been short of forward options since they failed to replace Andy Carroll at the end of the transfer window.
In BoriniÔÇÖs absence, Rodgers will have to rely on teenagers Samed Yesil and Adam Morgan as back-up for Suarez.
Borini, who has previously worked with Rodgers at both Chelsea and Swansea, has endured a difficult start to his Liverpool career following his £10.5million switch from Roma this summer.
His only goal in 11 appearances came against Belarusian minnows FC Gomel at Anfield back in August and he was an unused substitute in last weekendÔÇÖs stalemate with Stoke City.
