Baghdad Bounedjeh Bag The Algerian Player Of The Year Award

Algerian football had its glamour moment at the Algiers Opera House on Monday evening where the Gala award ceremony was held.

Al Sadd striker, Baghdad Bounedjeh beat off competitions from Riyad Mahrez, Yacine Brahimi to claim the ‘Algerian Player Of The Year’ award.

The 27 year old won the prestigious award on the back of his exploits with his Qatari based club side, netting a total of 58 goals scored in year of 2018, standing above top stars like Messi(47) and Ronaldo (45) who have dominated the scorers chat over the past few years.

Bounedjeh who joins an exclusive list of Algerian football elites that includes the likes of Madjid Mahrez, Slimani and Brahimi was handed the golden ball award by legendary Brazilian left back, Roberto Carlos on the night.
