Arsenal are set to make a £10million offer for Liverpool’s out of favour centre back Daniel Agger, according to reports.
Agger emerged as a key target for the Gunners last week with the club looking for a replacement for Thomas Vermaelen.
And after Agger begged Liverpool to let him leave following an emotional meeting with Brendan Rodgers, Arsenal have moved in for the 29-year-old.
The Sun says Arsene Wenger is poised to make a £10million offer for his services and is hopeful of doing business.
With Per Mertesacker not fit and Laurent Koscielny an injury doubt, Arsenal are facing starting the season with just one fit centre back – rookie Calum Chambers.
Reports say Wenger has decided he wants a quality defender with bags of experience to step in and Agger is the top target.
