Despite Napoli’s 3-2 defeat at home to Fiorentina, Victor Osimhen is not giving up on his aim of winning the Italian Serie A this season.
Victor Osimhen, the stunning Napoli striker, believes his side is still in the title battle.
Before the Luciano Spalletti’s team met Fiorentina, they had won their previous three games and were on a three-game unbeaten run.
The Nigerian forward, 23, was outstanding, hitting one goal and assisting on another, but Napoli’s defense let them down, prompting them to lose by a narrow margin.
Goals from Gonzales, Ikone, and Cabral were enough to give Fiorentina the vital victory and three points at the Diego Maradona Stadium.
Napoli’s title chances are now at risk, as they presently sit third in the table, two points behind leaders AC Milan.
Osimhen, who stated that the slim defeat had saddened him, insisted that their hopes of capturing the Serie A title would not be dashed.
On Twitter, the Super Eagles forward acknowledged his disappointment at the defeat at home, but vowed that the Napoli team will keep believing.
“Hurtful Defeat But Won’t Let Our Hope Be Dashed,We Keep Believing.”

Following his recent form for Napoli, the Nigerian is gradually quieting his critics, and he’ll be looking for more goals against Jose Mourinho’s Roma on Monday night.
