Manchester City on Tuesday night hammered Leeds 7-0 during their Premier League game at the Etihad stadium.
The hosts, who put in a fantastic attacking effort, had six different goal scorers.
They got right to work, and after 10 minutes, the hosts were up 1-0 thanks to Foden’s goal, which came after a brilliant Meslier stop.
City was unstoppable from there on. Grealish made it two with an unmarked header, and De Bruyne made it three with a superb finish just before half-time.
More of the same in the second half.
The hosts were up and running again after a deflected strike from Mahrez, before De Bruyne scored the greatest goal of the seven: a magnificent 25-yard strike that left Meslier helpless.
And there was still time for Ake and Stones to add two more straightforward finishes to the score.
This was a humiliating defeat for Leeds, which they will want to forget quickly.
The result puts City four points clear at the top of the table, while Leeds slips to 16th position.
“Yeah, we played a really good game. We dropped five points against Leeds last season with the same guys we had today except Jack. It was a good game. The vibe at the stadium was phenomenal,” says Pep Guardiola shortly after the game.
