Super Eagles pointman, Umar Sadiq has been named a contender for the La Liga2 SmartBank player of the month award for February.
The forward has excelled for the Spanish team since returning from the Africa Cup of Nations, Afcon 2021, in Cameroon, where he represented Nigeria’s Super Eagles.
The 25-year-old scored in each of Almeria’s four league matches in February, adding two assists to his tally of 13 after matchday 29.

He’ll be up against Jaime Seone of Huesca and Jose Corpas of Eibar for the title.
During the month, Seone scored three goals in three games, while Corpas scored twice in four games.
The Nigerian international has 36 goals and 16 assists in 69 games for UD Almera in all competitions since joining the club, and he is now the league’s fifth top goal scorer.

His performances this season have made him a transfer target for a number of LaLiga’s top clubs, including Sevilla, who have been told they must invest €60 million to secure his services.
