The UEFA Champions League, UCL, returns for matchday 2 this midweek headlined by some super, super matches with the game between PSG and Manchester City top of the pack.
Ligue 1 giants PSG host the champions of England Manchester City at the Parc des Princes on Tuesday night in what has been described as the game of the week by the Football411 Podcast crew.
That game is one of the most interesting games tonight in the Champions League, others include Liverpool at Porto and Milan taking on Atletico Madrid at San Siro, before Juventus will battle it out against holders Chelsea on Wednesday in Turin.
Speaking on the latest Football411 Podcast, the gang had this to say;
“It’s going to be one of the games of the week due to the quality and tactics on display from both teams and their coaches.”
After some time on the sidelines due to a knee issue, Lionel Messi has been named in the PSG squad for tonight’s super league game against his former boss, Pep Guardiola.
Together, Guardiola and Messi won 14 titles at Barcelona during a four-year period, including two Champions League titles.
With Messi back in the side, giving his manager Mauricio Pochettino a huge boost, his City counterpart, Guardiola, has already conceded defeat to their hosts after he admitted he “doesn’t know how to stop” their French hosts and their world class attacking threat of Messi, Neymar and Mbappe.
“With this amount of quality, I don’t know how to stop them – they’re so good,” Guardiola told UEFA.com. “This amount of talent makes it so difficult.They were a fantastic team last season. It was a tight game. And now they have Messi.”
