Taiwo Awoniyi had an assist in Union Berlin’s incredible away victory over SC Freiburg at the Europa-Park Stadium on Saturday.
The Super Eagles man failed to score in Union Berlin’s 4-1 win against their Bundesliga opponent, but he did assist as the Urs Fischer side took all three points home.
Awoniyi had a hand in their first goal aa Grischa Promel was on hand to bury the goal and put Berlin ahead.
Christopher Trimmel then made it 2-0 with a beautiful header within 30 minutes of game play.

Before Sheraldo Becker scored to give the visitors a 3-0 lead thanks to Taiwo Awoniyi’s assist four minutes before the interval.
The hosts did grab a consolation goal from Lucas Hdler in the 59th minute, but Andras Schafer scored a minute before stoppage time to compound their misery.
After 64 minutes of play, Kevin Behrens was called in to replace the Nigerian forward.
In 34 appearances for Union Berlin in all competitions this season, the 24-year-old Nigerian forward has 14 goals and two assists.
Union Berlin is in sixth position, one point behind the UEFA Conference League places, with one game remaining on Saturday, April 14, against VFL Bochum.

Notwithstanding the the humiliating defeat, Freiburg remains in fourth place with 55 points.
