The latest Super Eagles Derby in Premier League has completely ended in a disappointing display with no talking points as all the Nigerian stars failed to make any impact for their various clubs.

In the English Premier League game between Everton and Southampton at Goodison Park, Nigerian international Alex Iwobi made a return to action in Everton’s defeat against Southampton.

After being forced off the field of play by Tyrell Malacia’s slide challenge in the third-round FA Cup match between Manchester United and Everton, Alex Iwobi somehow made a miraculous comeback.

Despite his return from injury, the 26-year-old featured for 90 minutes but couldn’t help lift the Frank Lampard side from relegation. Meanwhile, his Nigerian counterpart – Joe Aribo was an unused sub for Southampton.

The Saints secured a 2-1 win over the Toffees courtesy of a brace from James Ward-Prowse, while Amadou Onana pulled one back for the hosts.

Nottingham Forest vs Leicester City clash was another game that ended in show of shame for Super Eagles stars.

Wilfred Ndidi and Kelechi Iheanacho both featured in the game as Leicester City fell to a 4th consecutive league defeat in the Premier League.

A clinical brace from Brennan Johnson helped Nottingham Forest pull three points clear of Leicester City following a merited win. While Emmanuel Dennis was an unused sub, Taiwo Awoniyi completely missed the game due to injury.

Its been a tough and rough journey for the Super Eagles stars in the 2023/24 campaign as Kelechi Iheanacho, Wilfred Ndidi, Joe Aribo and Alex Iwobi are all battling for Premier League survival with their various teams.
