With 76 points, the Pigeons won the league for the first time in the club’s history, winning 23 out of 33 games, drawing seven times, and losing three times.

Sunday Adetunji, who couldn’t believe he’s a Champion, took to his Twitter page on Friday morning to express his delight.

The Goce Sedloski team emerged winners of the league title after hammering Akademija Pandev 3-0 in front of their home supporters at the Cair Stadium on Sunday.

Sunday Adetunji disclosed that his goal was to win major honours and lead FC Shkupi to the top, and that he has accomplished both with his teammates.

Adetunji, who led the club to glory, scoring over 20 goals in 28 appearances in his first season with FC Shkupi, described the journey as difficult but incredible.

He went on to say that he is ecstatic to be a part of the club’s historic moment and that he will remember it for the rest of his life.

According to the 24-year-old forward, FC Shkupi’s next season goal is to win the season double and qualify for the UEFA Champions League group stage.

When I came to FC Shkupi, my target was to win major honours and take the club to the top. I’m honoured for the opportunity to be part of this family, the management, coaches, and teammates helped me to settle down. It was an incredible season for us. We clocked 10 years since the club was founded and we won our first League title. Tough journey for us and an amazing experience. Emerging as the top scorer with 20 goals was a special feeling in my first season. The fans have been incredible and superb with their support. I’m delighted to be part of this historic moment of the club,” Sunday Adetunji wrote.

The forward added that;

To play for this family was an honour, and I will cherish this moment forever. Winning titles must be part of us, we want the fans to be excited and be proud of us. We want to give more for the badge. We are looking forward to next season, amazing challenges ahead. We want to win the League title, and achieve a season double. Our target is to get to the group stage of the UEFA Champions League. It was a dream come alive for all of us. For the fans, THANK YOU.”

After that, Sunday Adetunji expressed gratitude to his friends, family, and the Nigerian media for their unconditional support all through the season.
