Aston Villa takes the three points back to the Midlands after Steven Gerrard secured his second win in his first two games as manager.
They took the lead after Targett was found by a Young corner after 15 minutes. The full-back took a touch before slamming the ball home to put his team ahead early.
They should have been farther ahead before the break, as McGinn and Mings both had decent chances, and they did come under early pressure from their opponents in the second half.
They remained firm, though, and doubled their lead in the 86th minute, when McGinn scored beautifully past Guaita after being spotted on the edge of the box by El Ghazi.
Guehi equalized in the 95th minute, but Villans held on for a significant win that puts them up to 11th place.
Delighted to top off my 50th app for the club with another 3 points and a big performance.
A big shout to our support this afternoon-with us every step of the way??

They’ll play Manchester City next in an attempt to keep climbing the rankings.
Meanwhile, the Eagles’ unbeaten streak has come to an end, but they remain in 10th place on the rankings. The team’s next game is in Leeds.
“Our first-half performance was superb.” The thoughts of Steven Gerrard following the victory at Selhurst Park.
