Rivers United’s head coach, Stanley Eguma, has predicted a tough match against Plateau United later today in the Nigeria Professional Football League.
According to the coach, his team will surely separate themselves from Plateau United and maintain their lead at the top of the NPFL table when both sides meet today.
The NPFL22 champion will not be decided this week he noted, but the top-of-the-table meeting between Rivers United and Plateau United at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium should provide a good indication of who will win the title.
As matchday 31 takes off today, the gap between the two teams at the top of the Nigeria Professional Football League table stands at seven points, with the Stanley Eguma-trained side looking to increase the gap even more with a win.
Both side enjoyed success in their last outings with the Pride of Rivers coming from behind to steal a 3-2 win over Dakkada FC in Uyo, while Plateau United defeated Rangers Int FC 4-0 in Jos.
“We know it’s going to be a tough game but i believe that at the end we are going to distinguish ourselves from them and maintain our lead.” – Stanley Eguma said.
Both sides have met a total of 12 times. Rivers United has five wins and three draws so far. Plateau has a four-game winning streak.
