With his first goal of the 2022/2023 season in the match against LOSC Lille on matchday two, FC Nantes attacker Simon Moses got his Ligue 1 new campaign off to a strong start.
Simon Moses played in Nantes’ second match of the season, helping the team to a point-sharing encounter against Lille at home.
The Super Eagles winger who had a promising start to the season for FC Nantes in France, was not given the honor of being the game’s hero.
On Friday night in French Ligue 1, Lille came to Nantes’ home stadium and forced a 1-1 draw, despite the winger believing he had given Nantes the much-needed victory.
Simon’s right-footed shot rattled the Lille post in the 25th minute of the intensely competitive game and nearly resulted in the opening goal.
The attacker, however, refused to give up, and three minutes later he scores the first goal of the season for the home team with another close-range right-footed shot.
Despite Nantes’ best efforts, the team came up short in the end when 32-year-old length back – Ismaily dos Santos, who came into the game just before the start of the second half, scored a late goal to deny Nantes a second victory of the campaign.
A well-executed goal by the away side, who had been the superior of the two teams in the second 45 minutes, allowed the Brazilian to equalize the game 13 minutes before the end of regulation time.

After all is said and done, Nantes will count themselves lucky to have shared the spoils, and Moses will undoubtedly be happy to have scored for the Canaries.
Lille tops the French Ligue 1 standings with four points after one win and one draw, while Simon Moses and his teammates remain in ninth place with two points.
