Victor Osimhen guaranteed that Napoli remained behind Serie A leaders AC Milan with a brace in an exciting 2-1 win over Verona.

After leading Napoli to a crucial away win in Serie A on Sunday, the Super Eagles forward ended his scoring drought.

Luciano Spalletti’s team concluded the weekend with three points behind the league leaders – Milan, all thanks to Osimhen’s goals in either half.

With a fantastic header 14 minutes into the first half, the forward fired the visitors ahead, making it his fifth headed goal of the season.

With 19 minutes left in the game, Osimhen doubled Napoli’s lead with an excellent second-half finish.

Even though the game seemed to be over, Marco Faraoni grabbed a consolation goal with a powerful header following a great play and a beautiful cross from Adrien Tameze.

However, Ceccherini was sent out for a second yellow card just as Igor Tudor’s team was pressing for a tie, allowing Napoli to finish the game the 2-1 win.

Verona captain Faraoni also got sent out after the final whistle, despite loud protests directed towards referee Daniele Doveri
