The Super Eagles star will play under Lucianio Spalletti next season after the experienced Italian was named as the new coach at SSC Napoli.
Spalletti will replace former boss, Gennaro Gattuso, who was sacked after he failed to qualify for the UEFA Champions League as Napoli finished fifth in the Serie A.
The 62-year-old Spalletti arrives with a wealth of experience having overseen a total of 482 matches in the Italian Serie A at Inter Milan and AS Roma.
He becomes Osimhen’s latest boss and will be responsible for his development for the foreseeable future as the Nigerian hopes to conquer the league next season under the new manager, under whose watch strikers like Edin Dzeko, Mauro Icardi, and Roma legend Francesco Totti enjoyed successful campaigns.
Meanwhile, one individual is delighted with his latest employee, Napoli’s enigmatic President, Aurelio De Laurentiis.
“I am delighted to announce that Luciano Spalletti will become Napoli coach. Welcome, Luciano – we’ll do great work together,” he said.
Spalletti, whose tenure is expected to start on July 1, won two Italian cups and Super Cup at Roma and secured Champions League football in his two seasons at the San Siro with Inter.
He has been without a job since he was sacked by Inter Milan in 2019.
