The first goal of the 2022 World Cup for Senegal was scored by forward Boulaye Dia, who took advantage of a defensive error by the Qatari defense in the 41st minute of the first half.

Ismaila Sarr, a Senegalese defender, fouled Akram Afif, a dangerous Qatari attacker, in the 33rd minute of the first half, but the referee, Antonio Mateu, did not give a penalty.

In the 41st minute of the first half, Famara Diedhiou expertly headed in an excellent corner kick by Ismail Jakobs to give Senegal a 2-0 lead.

After receiving a superb right wing ball from Ishmeal Mohammed in the 77th minute of the second half, Qatar’s Mohammed Muntari brought the score down to 1-2.

The 84th minute of the second half of the game saw Senegalese sub Ahmedu Bamba Dieng score his team’s third goal, giving the French Speaking West African Team its first three points of the 2022 Qatar World Cup.

It appeared that Senegal would win after scoring the second goal, but the hosts got a glimmer of hope when Muntari scored; however, Bamba Dieng answered six minutes later.
