Sancho has acknowledged he is determined to make the England World Cup team after scoring a goal during their Europa League game and receiving high praise from the new manager of Manchester United – Erik ten Hag.

The United manager was pleased with Jadon Sancho’s performance against Sheriff Tiraspol on Thursday night in their Europa League match.

The Englishman scored his first Europa League goal of the campaign to help Manchester United defeat Sheriff Tiraspol 2-0 and earn their first Europa League victory of the season.

After 17 minutes into the game, Sancho took advantage of a pass from Christian Eriksen and finished skillfully in the bottom-right corner to give the game its first goal.

Sancho, who has been left out of Gareth Southgate’s England team, has now registered three goals in his last six matches for United, which is more than he had in his previous 24 games put together.

The former Borussia Dortmund winger – Sancho reiterated his determination to be called up to England’s World Cup squad later this year in Qatar.

It was really important that we got the win today,” the winger told reporters. Our last home against Real Sociedad was an upset and coming into this game, we knew we had to get the three points.” – Sancho said

The forward noted;

Obviously, it is disappointing not to get the call-up, but I have to keep working hard and hopefully, I do get the call-up for the World Cup. I just have to focus on myself and carry on working hard.”

In their last six games in all competitions, United has picked up five victories, matching the total number of wins they had in their previous 21 games put together.

Jadon Sancho dedicated his goal to a young fan who gifted him with some personalised shin pads.
