Rivers United’s NPFL encounter versus Niger Tornadoes on Monday at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium saw Nyima Nwagua, Ishaq Kayode, and Konan Ruffin all grab a goal.

To redeem their away setback to Sunshine Stars of Akure, Stanley Eguma smashed Niger Tornadoes 3-0 in Port Harcourt.

Both teams got off to a good start, but it only took the league leaders 30 minutes to break the tie thanks to Ishaq Kayode.

Three minutes later, the Pride of Rivers doubled their lead, and this time it was Nyima Nwagua who accomplished it with a simple tap-in after a fantastic assist from Nelson Esor.

The Port Harcourt team led 2-0 at the halftime break and went on to dominate the game in the second half.

The two goal scorers, Ishaq Kayode and Nyima Nwagua, were later substituted and replaced by Konan Ruffin and Solomon Okuruket.

With 81 minutes remaining, Konan Ruffin made it 3-0 for the home side, with Nelson Esor picking up his second assist of the game.

Rivers United maintain their four-point lead at the top of the table after 25 games with the 3-0 victory.
