Super Eagles winger Moses Simon scored twice in the first half as Nantes threw away a two-goal lead to draw 2-2 with RC Lens in Ligue 1.
Simon scored the game’s first goal for the visitors within eight minutes. After a poor challenge on Simon by goalkeeper Jean-Louis Leca, Lens were reduced to 10 men after 11 minutes.
The visitors capitalized and with 13 minutes remaining in the first half, the 26-year-old Nigerian made it 2-0 for Nantes.
Moses Simon was on the verge of completing a hat-trick for Nantes before the hosts upset them with a second-half comeback.
David Costa sparked the comeback in the 67th minute when he equalized for the home side.
Arnaud Kalimuendo, on loan from PSG completed the comeback with a penalty attempt with nine minutes left in the game and it ended 2-2.
Moses Simon has recorded six goals and eight assists so far this season, and he has been involved in four of Nantes’ last five goals.
FC Nantes are currently in ninth spot with 50 points after 35 games, while RC Lens are only five points ahead of them in seventh place.
On May 7th, all attention will be on the Antoine Kombouaré’s side when they face Nice in the French Cup final.
