Raheem Sterling is off to a strong start in his new career at Chelsea, fulfilling his leadership role with the Blues’ opening goal and a brace later as they easily defeat Leicester City on Saturday in their Premier League match at Stamford Bridge.
Raheem Sterling was undoubtedly the game’s most outstanding player after scoring two exquisite goals to lead the Thomas Tuchel team to their second victory of the new season.
Following their 3-0 loss to Leeds United last weekend, Chelsea nearly had another disastrous performance against the Brendan Rodgers’ Foxes.
Raheem Sterling’s two goals, though, helped Chelsea go up 2-0 and they managed to hold off Leicester’s late comeback as the game came to a close.
Luckily enough for the Blues, Raheem Sterling came to their aid after Gallagher’s red card in the first half had reduced them to ten men and the second half had them grabbing two goals.
Sterling started the scoring almost immediately coming into the second half and quickly doubling Chelsea’s lead in 67th minute.
The forward posted on his social media page immediately following the game to say;
“This feeling right here… nothing quite like it. Great team win“

But once Barnes’ magnificent goal had pulled Leicester back into the contest, it was all the Foxes from that moment on, and despite their best attempts, they were unable to score an equalizer.
It was likely through Tielemans that Leicester would have equalized, given how brilliant he was for the visitors in the second half but he failed to find back of the net.
This slight victory allowed Chelsea, who are presently sixth in the standings, to overcome Leeds’ 3-0 defeat.
Leicester, despite their best efforts in the dying minutes of the game, is still without a victory and will drop to the bottom of the table if West Ham wins their next game.
There are concerning signs for the Foxes, but because to their determination and grit in their quest for an equalizer, they probably will be fine from their next game.
