Premier League new team Brentford football club have confirmed the transfer of Super Eagles midfielder Frank Onyeka.

The club confirmed the deal via a post short statement on their official social media which read;

We are delighted to confirm the signing of midfielder Frank Onyeka on a five-year deal from FC Midtjylland.

23-year-old Onyeka joins from the former Danish champions, putting pen to paper on a deal that will see him stay at the PL club until the summer of 2026.

His move to the club is still subject to international clearance but the defensive midfielder has already received his work permit at the weeks and passed his medical.

Speaking on the move and player, club director said the Nigerian has been on the club radar for a while and has convinced them with his performances in Denmark.

Onyeka is a player we, for obvious reasons, know very well. Over the last two years he has grown to become the dominant midfielder in the Danish league and his performances in the Champions League last season convinced us that he is ready for the Premier League.

His new coach, Thomas Frank added;

“I am looking forward to getting Frank in the building. We think he is a strong addition to the squad, and we are looking forward to working with him. He is a very dynamic player.”

Frank was part of the FCM side that won the Danish Superliga in 2017/18, playing 15 games. He helped them win the title again in 2019/20 and the Danish Cup in 2019.

Frank Onyeka becomes the club’s first signing of the season and will undergo a period of quarantine before joining with the squad for training after he arrived England on Monday.

He departs Denmark having made 123 appearances and scored 17 goals for the club.
