Gabriel Jesus, the Arsenal new signing had a productive debut for the club, scoring twice during their friendly against the German team Nurnberg.

The Brazilian was quickly given his first taste of action after being acquired by the North London club from Manchester City for £45 million.

Prior to Jesus’ substitution at the break in Friday’s friendly game in Germany, Mikel Arteta’s club had a startling 2-0 deficit to Nurnberg.

But the forward immediately set about getting his team back in the game, banging the ball in 90 seconds after the restart.

The 25-year-old took control of the ball towards the top of the field and then scaled back inside after straying to the right wing.

After Eddie Nketiah collected a pass from him and played it back to the Brazilian, Jesus made a fantastic first-time volley into the roof of the net from a tight angle.

Following a thundering strike by Mohamed Elneny, Arsenal unexpectedly soared by two goals courtesy of two own goals, even though Jesus was involved in both of them.

The former Man City star doubled his tally with 15 minutes left in the match after Nurnberg had pulled one back.

After receiving a precise near-post cross from fellow countryman Gabriel Martinelli, the attacker produced a deft flick into the roof of the net to make it 5-3. He showed his satisfaction by making the well-known “phone” gesture.

Arsenal head coach – Mikel Arteta will surely be thrilled with his new signing from City.
