Serie A giants – Juventus warmly welcomed Paul Pogba to the team with a comfortable victory over Mexican club Chivas Guadalajara as part of the opening of their US tour on Friday.

It was the first game for both midfielder Paul Pogba, who returned to Juventus in the summer, and former Paris Saint-Germain midfielder – Angel Di Maria.

The French midfielder – Paul Pogba moved to Juventus early this month on a free transfer just after his contract with Manchester United, which he signed in 2016 for a then-record fee of 105 million euros expired.

The 29-year-old was a key player in coach Massimiliano Allegri’s starting 11 at the Allegiant Stadium and Juve fans felt his presence once again in the team.

However, in the 10th minute, Marco Da Graca found the back of the net to give Juventus the lead with a close-range shot just after Federico Gatti’s header from a corner was palmed away by the Chivas goalkeeper.

In the 80th minute, Mattia Compagnon scored for Juve again thanks to Tommaso Barbieri’s blocked shot that went right to him after the player made a single run into the area.

Juventus took charge of the first half, with threats from Di Maria, Paul Pogba, and Nicolo Fagioli, while Carlos Cisneros’ shot on the last seconds of the game pushed Juve goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny into a couple of saves.

Juventus appeared less unified in the second half after numerous substitutes, but they still continued to hold the Liga MX team in check and also held on to their win in an encouraging start to their tour.

Shortly after the game, Paul Pogba took to his Twitter page to express his delight of featuring for the Italian side once again by saying “we are back”.

The US tour includes two Spanish giants – Barcelona and Real Madrid, whom they will also face off at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas and the Rose Bowl outside of Los Angeles, respectively.

Giorgio Chiellini, Paulo Dybala, and Dutch defender Matthijs de Ligt all left their positions open at the Serie A side, and Allegri is looking to Pogba and other newcomers to fill those voids.
