While the game between Enyimba and Kwara United has been postponed due to the former’s involvement in the CAFCC, here is all you need to know about the other nine matches slated for later today.

  1. Katsina United, Kano Pillars to hold behind closed doors

This particular Northern derby will be held behind closed doors when the matches kick-off later today, according to the League Management Council, LMC.

Both clubs will be issued accreditation to enable entrance into the Muhammadu Dikko Stadium in Katsina.

The match will be held behind closed doors & accreditation issued by LMC to all the teams with each allocated 20 players, 7 officials and 5 directors.

The home side would be hoping to bounce back from their 2-0 defeat on matchday 21 to Heartland in Owerri against the second-placed Pillars, who are unbeaten in their last six matches (5 wins and 1 draw) in the league.

Also, after making his return to the NPFL last weekend, Ahmed Musa could feature once again for Pillars.

Ahmed Musa made his second debut in the NPFL last weekend.
  1. Akwa United, Rangers to be televised on NPFL.tv

Easily the biggest game of the matchday and it is no surprise it will be televised live on the premium NPFL.tv.

Top toppers United host their counterparts from Enugu, Rangers International in what is easily the biggest game of the week in Uyo on Monday.

Unbeaten since February 20, the Promise Keepers will look to maintain their place at the top of the table, while the visitors would hope for a quick bounce back from the narrow home defeat at home to Rivers United the last time.

  1. Enyimba, Kwara United postponed

This game could have rivalled the previous one in Uyo as the biggest of the game week but due to Enyimba’s crucial quarter final clash against Pyramids FC of Egypt in the CAFCC, it has now been suspended. The game will be rescheduled.

Third-placed Kwara could drop to fifth at the end of the day should Rivers United and Nasarawa United, a point and two behind them respectively win their matches.

  1. Rivers United, Abia Warriors to entertain Port Harcourt fans

Two of the most exciting sides meet on Sunday in Port Harcourt when the Warriors make a short trip to face their hosts Rivers United.

Buoyed by their away win the last time against Rangers in Enugu, the home side will be full of confidence heading into this one, in addition to their recent unbeaten run at home.

The Pride of Rivers are yet to drop a point in their last five matches and the Warriors, they host a side struggling to pick points away from home, having drawn three and lost three of their last six on the road.

However, this game promises goals as these two love to score – United have scored four goals in their last three matches, while the Warriors have netted six (6).

  1. The Excitement Is Set To Continue in the NPFL

Yes, since the NPFL returned for the second half of the season, fans have been treated to premium entertainment by the teams and their players.

Since the return on matchday 20, an average of over 2.2 goals have been scored per game in the football league and we don’t expect any less this Sunday.
